Hi everyone,

So I'm finally through with the big test. As for the scores, well not too impressive [xx(] . Here they are-

Q-800 and V-670.

Talking about the AWA, I had a choice between

1) Its important that research should be aimed at improving the lives of the people. (I chose this)

and

2)Rules are both just and unjust. Follow only just ones and condemn the unjust ones.

Both of these are in list given out by ETS.

The arg topic was about the people of Forsythe being healthy, consuming 'kiran' foods and a few consuming 'sulia'. I presume my essays were pretty decent. But until the marks are out........

After this I faced a V, then a Q and again a V. The V's were not too bad, though the second seemed a bit tougher than the first and I strongly suspect the second one was the scored section, since I had a ball in the first V section, (would've scored atleast 720+ in that). Moreover, my powerprep scores in V were in the range of 730-760 and I still dont understand what went wrong there.

Q wasnt bad at all, no Std Deviation, very little 3-D geometry and absolutely no conics.

AND Of course, a MEGA Thanks to all the TM groupies, apprenticies, gurus, those in training, and the 'mom and dad pleasers' who've helped me in the new and 'strange' AWA. And most importantly, a BILLION THANKS to our benefactor ERIN for coming up with this forum to help people like us.

All the best to you guys,

Xaero

(PS: I've got my TOEFL 3 mondays from now. Expecting you essay critics [}] to lambaste my stories there)

The scores are not bad at all and definitely impressive.
After all u used to tell that scores higher than 1450 are good.

Hi Seeny and Priyanka,

Thanks!! Well, yes my Q score couldnt've been any better. And I suppose 670 in V should be sufficient for applying in most univs. But still I presume getting a 700 shouldnt be tough at all in V. I nearly ran out of patience, sitting thru the exam for over 3 hours and cared less for my final V section, for which I paid. I'd suggest you people to practice taking the test for atlest 3 hours at a stretch, esp. 'coz the new pattern is more taxing than the older one, since we're supposed to type for an hour and 15 mins, followed by 3 sections of V, Q and another V or Q.

Hi Synthia,

Thanks!! It sure feel a lot lighter, with the GRE off your shoulders. And, yes, 1470 is not too bad anyday. I'd suggest you people to aim for atleast a 700 in V, which should be quite possible. As for Q, a little caution will get you an 800.

Dont worry too much about the Antonyms in V. Not all were from Barrons, but still I could figure out most of them. Of course, none of them were French words or of any other language. Concentrate well on the RCs and dont freak out [:o)] as time passess by .

1500+ to you

Xaero

Wow, what an impressive score! You are to be commended!! And we all really, really appreciate your posting back with your experiences. I'm sure you know how helpful it is to hear from the countless others who came before you, and I'm sure your post will help many, many others.

I guess we'll see you in the TOEFL section now. It'll be a piece of cake compared with the GRE.

Congrats again!
