Hello everyone,
I finally did recieve my essay score yesterday (it was delayed because the printed address was incomplete).I scored 5.0 in the AWA section (better than I thought I would).Really, TM was the main reason why I was able to write my essays as well as I did.

A big [/size]THANK YOU [/size]to all you TMians who read and critiqued my essays and gave plenty of ideas, comments & advice; and to Erin for setting up this great forum.Meanwhile, I am going around recommending TM to my friends..

BTW, these were the percentile ranks for my scores:
V score 750 percentile 99
Q score 800 pecentile 94
(Funny that a perfect score should get a 94-percentile!)?

hey kaushik,

great scores man!

it's incredible that a 750 is a 99 percentile. I am assuming that most people, then, dont get an 800. one person on our board got a 770 in verbal. that means she also got 99. but what this also means is that she got more questions right than you, right?

it looks like this:
800 - all questions correct - 99.8 %ile
770 - one question wrong - 99.5 %ile
750 - two wrong, or one wrong in the first 10 questions - 99%ile
700 (MY SCORE) - at least three wrong or at the most five wrong - 97%ile

it looks GRE is successful in keeping Verbal hard (what with endless possible words), but not in keeping the Math more challenging.

Yes, the percentiles seem to have gone crazy recently.As Sri has pointed out, the univs will probably rescale their acceptance scores.So, hopefully there is no reason to worry too much.
