I meant that it would be nice if you could share your test experience or any useful tips for future GRE test takers.

Re: V:700, Q:790
The first section was the writing section.
I scored 4.5 Then Quantitative It seemed slightly more difficult then Powerprep. But my guess is that it was the pressure more then anything else. Next Verbal which went much as expected last was an optional research in math. For studing Verbal I found that with all of the word lists I studied, Most of the test I knew from reading high level publications (The Economist, the Classics in Philosophy and various academic journals) and not from studying the word lists. Reading a lot raises your vocabulary to a high level and it is more likely to stick with you then if you learned it through forced memorization. Of course reading also helps with reading comprehension. In the quantitative I found the biggest problem was stupid mitakes in reading the problem and in remembering what to plug in (for instance to divide by 2 when computating a half circle or triangle) and finding shortcuts to save time. Of course theres also a temptation to be stubborn when its worth just giving up (even on an early problem if necesary) Thanks to Test magic forumers for all there help. Ill probably be back when I take the math GRE If you have any questions i'd be glad to help jacob |
