Hi Erin,

This is the first time i am writing to you. Although i have constantly been visiting TestMagic.com during my GRE prep. I gave my GRE on 10th Jan 2003. But i didn't do very good on it. My Verbal- 440 and my Quan- 710 although in the practice tests i used to score about 550 in verbal and 760 in quan. anyhows now i am planning to apply for MS(comp. sc.), do you think there is any chance of me getting and admission with such a score. i have yet to take my TOEFL. I am planning to apply in some state universities in California as it is difficult for me to relocate to some other place. Please i desperately need your guidance.

Which practice tests were showing your score to be higher?

As you know, CS doesn't require such a high verbal score, so you should be okay for at least some of the schools. Which ones are you thinking of applying to? The UC's? Or the CSU's? You know there's a world of difference between the two! You should be fine for the CSU's, such as San Jose State, but the better UC's might be a stretch, depending on the other factors.

Hi Erin

I had given the practice tests in the Powerprep and the ones in Barrons. Any ways i am planning to apply for the CSU's in San Jose, Hayward and San Fransisco. Do you think i can get thru in any of them? I am glad i wrote to you. Thanks
