Dont know how it happened. Just took my GRE test today. I have to admit, the math is definetely a lot harder than the Powerprep and Kaplan tests. But somehow, when I got my score at the end, I was surprised by the perfect 800. Seems weird, cuz there was at least 6-10 I guessed on......Verbal was 580 (difficulty comparable to the Powerprep and Kaplan difficulties. Anyone can guess how I got a perfect score?

Wow!!! Outstanding GRE score, both Q and V! Congratulations! The mystery is not so much of a mystery, just the way GRE CAT works, if you got loads of very difficult questions correct (include some of the ones you guessed on), even if you missed a few of the difficult ones, you can still score a perfect score! The key is to have a lot of correct answers in the beginning of the Q section and at the end, if you miss a couple of difficult ones in the middle, it doesn't affect your score (depending on how many you get wrong, of course, and in your case it was probably only a couple or so).

I am planning on applying to the Industrial and Systems Engineering Masters at USC.

Congratulations! I think your scores exceeded your original target, right? Good job!

I'm not too surprised that you guessed on some and still got a perfect score, enjoy your celebration.

hi jyeh. what concentration in ISE have you chosen? i want to take the same stream as well. what are the concentrations worth taking job opportunities wise?
