Re: V690 Q780
I think your score is amazing!!! I wouldn't retake it for the verbal, it's more than enough to get into any program. The rest will depend on the other elements in your file. Your GRE will not stand in your way to get into a TOP program! Congratulations!!!

Re: V690 Q780
Congrats for the great score!
GRE scores are not the only criterion on which grad schools give admits, but they form an important part. If you are sure that you will be able to repeat your past performance, then go for it. Otherwise, you will be fine with this score. Your score will suffice the minimum score of most universities, if not all! Best of luck with the admission process! |

Thanks for the kind remarks.
I´m applying to top schools like Stanford, Yale, top UC schools in biosciences. Just recently got back the writing scores and I got a 5. I do think that if I downloaded that list of 5000 words and spent a little bit of time with it every night this summer that I could do better by the time I got back to the States in the fall. But I´m still deciding if it´s worth it. And I should probably look into the issue of what Stanford etc do with the scores (highest, average, whatever). |

Congratulations!! Your dream come true... Wow! a great score... I don't think you should go for the test again, and with that of nice AWA score. If I were you I would not think of giving it again. But if you think you can do better than ......
Generally the Universities need 650 V and upto 720 Q with 5AWA. That's what I know. I shall appreciate if you can share your preparation strategies.... Congrats again. BEST OF LUCK FOR YOUR FUTURE.... |

Hey daydreamer,
IMHO (and I have read), the test should be retaken *if and only if* there is a possibilty of increasing the score in any section by 100 points... you don't need it pal... and stanford takes even 1400s (of course with other things being good)... best, Attraxion. |
