Hi All,

I am straight from prometric testing center. Here is my score report:

Q - 760
V - 520

The AWA part was OK. My heart felt thanks to all the TMians, especially to Sri, Ramya & AmigoRo :o

I feel I could have done much much better in the test. Anyway, I am satisfied with the score since I prepared for only 2 weeks. Moreover, I am having internal exams at college too!( had 1 on monday, have 1 on friday

The quantitative section is a bit difficult compared to those of earlier years (from the big book). Infact, I got a question to calculate the median of a frequency distribution ! There were a couple of questions from coordinate geometry too. I used to get 790-800 in the practise tests in Kaplan and powerprep

The verbal part was easy. If I had studied the whole of barron's master word list, I could have easily scored 700+

What do you think of the scores? Is it enough to get admission to a decent university? Or should I retake the test?

Good score, especially with the limited time you had to prpare.
Median for frequency distribution , has been discussed with ans example in the official gre material att www.gre.org, in their study material for quants. So as Erin always says, i believe that it will pay to go through all official materials thoroughly.

I am seriously thinking of retaking the GRE after preparing well. I think I can do much better if I prepare well, especially in the verbal part

Congratulation, by the way, can you tell me more about the Brron's master word list? From what material can I get this list? thank you very much.

Hi Kim,

Thank you for your well wishes.

The list I mentioned was from Barron's GRE.

Actually, I used a software to mug up about half of the master wordlist. It is called "Automated Vocabulary Enhancer". It has all the words in the Barron's master word list + some additional words.
