    Thumbs up 1480! v-680,Q-800

    hi to all,
i took my test today at chennai. i would like to thank all people who helped me out with my problems. the forum is very helpful, and informative.i am a frequent visitor of the math section.as i didnt have math for the past four yrs,it had become very rusty, prone to silly mistakes.then i took the advice of many test takers.
    i worked hard on my quants.even before the exam i never crossed 660.but this a wonder,that i got 800!!!!!!!
well,im so happy.like my fellow TMians i would like to share my experience.i was so tensed for the exam. did only math for two days before exam.didnt revise vocab...and then the test day came,i was sick.
the vocab section was easy.all barrons words.even the reading passages were simple.quants did not involve much of calculations.not even a single sum on probability, permutations, geometry etc,
    got sums on mean,median,std.deviation....
i had to randomly select answers for last three qstns as i ran out of time.
got a lot of sums on inequality and number systems.
this is all i hav to say abt the test.like others said,i answered the first 20 qstns correctly.
    once again thanx to all.

    thanx guys

my prep for the exam was exactly for two months.i never found verbal difficult,b'coz i read a lot of books.so it was jus revising.but it was maths that attacked my fort.i didnt have maths for 4 yrs and was bad.
but i practised, practised, practised.i worked out all CAT exam problems. barrons gives u strategies, but does not elaborate on certain areas.it is gud for people who are really gud at math. i prepd from rs aggarwal, career forum CAT prep books.they were really gud.first i identified my weak areas and then concentrated on them.ets tests u on huw u can identify, understand and therby solve the problem.so do a lot of word probs.be strong in thy basics.and u shd be able to form eqns with the info given, then u can solve any prob.
i got a lot of mean, median, mode, std.deviation sums, square, rectangle, and plenty of inequalities and number systems.
    words were all simple ones.insalubriousness,moment,reprehensible,ethos,
my DI qstns were from median type.i took princeton review, kaplan, powerprep, arco,
in all my score never crossed 1350. but i never gave up hope.and my quants was jus 650 before the exam.so work hard.any help u can ask.
