considering the fact that I was not able to study for the last 5-6 days.( moreover I prepared for GRE in 4-5 wks)

Congratulations Irumbu!!!! It's a great score that gives you good chances at getting accepted at your preferred programs.

I didn't know about the problems you had in the past few days. I hope everything will be better for you soon.

I got AWA-V-Q-V .The second verbal was easy than the 1st one. So I was always hoping that the 2 nd will be counted. But......

1st verbal was somewhat tougher than the verbal from PP. But the second was similar to PP .

In my 1st verbal I got 3 RC --120 LInES, 90 LINES & 35 LINES. And there was about 12- 13 questions from RC in 1st verbal . In the second one 3 RC but 25 lines, 35 & 90 lines, about 8- 10 questions. fIRST rc appeared IN 6TH question . 1 from science, all others philosophy & Metaphysics.

Most of the words ( say atleast 90% from Barrons).You will get rest of the words during your practice tests. ANT &ANA was okay .
**BEWARE OF SECONDARY MEANINGS**--- I THINK I GOT 3- 4 QUESTIONS

SC was okay , If you know the wordlist it will BE VERY much helpful.

Quantitative section was difficult than questions from PP. But not complicated, needs simple formula( I think).Got 2-3 questions from probability. 1-2 SD, MEAN.
Data analysis, graphs, diagrams was similar/easier than PP.
45 min was enough for me to go through all math question.

AWA --I didnt do well. So not looking for good score.

Where I messed up
NO DOUBT IN RC . I never expected 13- 14 questions would be from RC .I lost most of my time in RC . So I was rushing through the last 8 questions - just finished on time.

My PREPARATION;

I got some wrong information that --' GRE was easy and can be done in less than 1month' .( SOMEWHERE FROM THE NET) . So booked the exam leaving about 5 wks gap. I thought that it was more than enough .
Barrons, PP, Kaplan and ofcourse TESTMAGIC.
I dont think I am in a good position to advice you people. You will find more valuable advice from highscores in this forum.
But here is some imp points from my experience

** go through AMI & FLOUNDER ' S post

** Prepare well for RC

** go through Whole barrons wordlist

** do all practice questions & tests from PP

** do math review from PP

** GO THROUGH AWA section in TM

** Practice , practise, practice

** Be cool during your exam

Congratulations Irumbu, at least it is over. I hope you are happy with your scores.
I am sorry for your father, I hope he will get better soon.
As for the difficulties, "there will be always obstacles in our path, one who smiles at them will succeed" so I think it is time to smile now.

About the Verbal 13 RCs!!!! That is outrageous!! ETS has definitely gone nuts with GRE, they are going completely off track and still bragging about %90+ reliability about their tests.
How can a test be reliable if you cannot know what to expect?

Yes atlast it is over.:drunk:- Have to start TOEFL preparations soon. my exam is on dec 1st. I am also planning to start my application process soon.

gr8 score dude. I took one mth to prepare and did worse then u. and tatz wen I had all the time to prepare. im sure your dad will be get prefectly well soon too.... you will be able to get to your dream school soon. and your essay pattern was exactly the same as mine from your description. infact was feeling so screwed up after first verbal that did my quant extra carefully without realising time was running out and so missed up on last 4 questions, didnt even get to them. and the second v was damn easy with small rc and stuff.
