Yes, you can use the GRE's Scores by Phone service to get your scores 2 weeks after the test. You can find more information here:

Apart from improving your performance, there is not much that I can suggest you do. Try narrowing down your specific problem areas and address them. Are you taking too much time on Analogies/Antonyms? Perhaps, RCs are your weak area. Maybe SCs are not your cup of tea. Just figure out what it is that is bringing down your scores and work at it. Besides that, I don't think I can offer you any more advice. Of course, if you can just tell me what your specific problem is, I may be able to help you out further.

BTW, 550 is a decent enough Verbal score for engineering and science programs, though a little higher wouldn't hurt.

Golddust, can you please any source for the AWA part. Last time I took it I focused on the official awa guide from ets website and got a meager 3.

I just practised from the ETS pool of questions. You might want to try practising a few topics, and either evaluating them yourself (if you feel you could do that objectively), or getting a friend or teacher to evaluate them for you. If you want some tiips, have a look at Nova's AWA section, but I believe that they key to a good score is practice.

hi goldlust actually just wanted to know about princeton test??????
actually i gave 1 test in which got 26 right in quant and 20 right in verbal but after finishing the test saw a score of verbal 490 quant 550=1040.
my exam is on 17th nov so really disheartened with this score.
but gave pp1 some day before where gt 650 verbal and 660 quant.

I would actually place much more trust in PP than in Princeton. Princeton (Princeton Review) is not very adaptive and I think I remember the scoring scheme being weird. Now, getting 2 wrong in Quants should not send you score down 250 points (even if they are the first two). On the whole, trust your PP score and don't get yourself down. Good luck!

Golddust, you are my hero. One quick question: If I master the 3500 vocab words from Barrons is this adequate coverage for the exam or should I go above and beyond it. My thoughts is that anything above this would be overkill and time would be better served focusing on other areas. Your advice would be appreciated.
