Congrats Goldust. Wow i didn't know you already wrote your GRE...and have prepared so much. If anything, i really wished that i had prepped more ahead instead of just 1 month. One question for quant, what should i do to increase my quant? I've been consistently getting 3-4 wrong most of the time. Sometimes its careless, sometimes they're just really hard and sometimes they're kind of hard if i didn't think of them in a certain way. I really hope i can increase my quant to make up for verbal at least.
I have 10 days till the big day...what do you suggest i do about vocab? I've mastered all the frequent ones and i'm continually picking up more from mistakes i make on practice verbal questions. Should i be more focused with learning more words now? You've been a tremendous help on TM!!! can't tell you how much i appreciate it. =) |

Regarding quants, I really don't know. Being an engineering student, the level of math tested on the GRE is almost burned into my bones. This does not mean that I don't make mistakes. On the day before my GRE, I got 3 out of 10 quants questions wrong. Nice way to stay confident, right?
![]() So, all I can say is that you should try to master the application of mathematical principles. As 9 out of 10 test-takers will agree, the GRE really does not test acutal math to a great extent. The test-makers simply want to see if you have understood the concepts and their implications. In the remaining days, just concentrate on identifying and avoiding errors. For instance, I always made the error of mixing up the radius and the diameter of a circle in forumlas. For Verbal, what you are doing right now is OK. Don't try and learn any new wordlists at least. If you come across some new words in PP or BB, learn them, but nothing else should be necessary. Good luck for your test. |

Yes, I have a few beefs with ETS as well.
For example, they claim on their site that scores rarely increase so re-taking has minimal value. Then why do they not allow you to see your score then decide if you want to cancel it? It's my score and my $150. If the score is unlikely to increase, what difference does it make? It sounds like they aren't too confident in their research. ![]() Hey Oldman, wat do you mean ETS won't give you your score? don't you find out your score right after the test? <why not just Oldust and Goldman? > just kidding Last edited by mystic87 : 07-22-2008 at 03:57 PM. |

. Sounds better than Oldust.I think Oldman is referring to the fact that if you wish to cancel your scores after the test, you have to do so before seeing them. If you choose not to cancel them, then you get to see your scores. |

haha i just woke up and JUST came on to change that typo...forgive me i typed that at 12 am last night on the verge of passing out. But it looks like you beat me to it. Sorry about that.
Does that apply to CAT as well? I thought for CAt you make the decision to see you scores right after the test rather than later. Or does it mean once you've seen your scores you can cancel it? It doesn't seem like ETS to be so lenient... |

Vtomar, the test is random. Even if someone answered your question, there is no way the information would help you.
Be careful discussing live GRE material, another test prep site, scoretop.com got shut down by GMAC, the vendor for the GMAT, for discussing live questions and test conditions. They also seized the site's hard drive and are conducing an investigation on who accessed the site: Shutting Down a GMAT Cheat Sheet |
