Didn't do well...
Took the GRE yesterday. Got less than 800 combined V&Q. I only studied for about 3 weeks though; 3 serious weeks I should say. I wasn't prepared. I should have taken some more timed samples. I literally ran out of time on some questions at the end.
When I was faced with a tough problem instead of doing it very quickly I'd over-analyze the problem. Took too long on some, and by the end when that timer blinks and you realize you still have 10 questions....oh man! If I did ok on the writing section will that boost my score? I don't know that that even matters though, due to the fact that my school wants a good V&Q score. Meaning I'd guess 1000+. I'd like to take the test again next month, so that I have time to apply for scholarships if possible. Otherwise it's student loans again! Any tips for studying more, besides my timing on questions? Sorry for the long post, just needed to get this off my chest. I just feel really bad that I did poorly and know I could have done much better. I was a B student in undergrad electrical engineering. |

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will do lot well the next time. Take some more time for your preparation before the next exam. I don't know about the verbal section, but you have to practice a lot of math in the following days. Intense Practice is the key in order to do well in the quantitative part.
