congratulations Oink! you have done a good job there
well done and keep going

i've some questions if you allow me:

first, does BB refers to the Big Book??? if so, would you tell me how could i get this book??? i've heard that it is no more being published????

i've also heard that this book provide no answers to the questions in the book, how would you be sure that your answers are correct????

secondly, does PP refers to PowerPrep??? if so, does the powerprep provide tests for practice?????

thirdly, what if i didn't answer the research section??? does this affect my record of GRE????

in fact i had my GRE exam on 19 jun and the results was disastrous
i just scored 900 as a total score for both sections

so, plz if u could help me with those questions, i would be so grateful
thanx in advance Oink

and again CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSS

as for my plans, i really dunno .. my college is one of the top colleges in the country, but my standing is not that great .. im just above average with a converted gpa of perhaps 3 or 3.1 ... so dunno where that puts me.. anyways, ill think of getting some research done n then apply to a good univ .. maybe something like UCSB ..

thanx a lot !
yea, BB = big book .. its not published anymore, so u should search for the ebook version. Its in the pdf format, its a must have for knowing the way ets thinks . And though there arent explanations to them, there are answers to them written , so u can match ur answers with them. As for explanations, thats where this wonderful forum comes in
As for PP, yes, it stands for Power Prep. It gives just 2 tests, and it is almost exactly like the real gre, so give it when ur sure ur almost fully prepared , so u can gauge where u stand, n what to expect. It does provide with practise questions, however. I would suggest reading up Barrons wordlists first though, it is indispensable.

As for the research section, no it deasnt matter if u dont answer. But be sure that it IS the research section. If it is an extra AWA part, it is ok, ull know it is research. BUt a verbal or quant extra section might just be the real one !! And as far as i know, no it does not affect ur gre record in any way. Just be sure its the research section that u r giving a miss

regards !

lol, you're IITB, na?

tell me, did you take names of 4 univs to apply to beforehand ? Did you need codes also? was it four different courses or four diff univs?
I have no idea where I'm going to apply, esp before knowing my scores.. so I'd really like to know abt this, otherwise I'd prob end up wasting the free score sending.

Congrats again, and best of luck for the future!

It does help if you know the exact names of the courses and universities you are applying to. You are not allowed to take the codes with you into the testing centre. If you can remember them, they may serve as a cross-check. And you select your universities after seeing your scores, so you can decide accordingly.

lol. No im from Bits-Pilani. Yes i did take the names of 4 univs beforehand. You dont need the codes though. But you have to know which state they are in, and also their proper names ( for example, virginia tech is actually virginia polytechnic ) . Yea its always better to keep a range of univs in mind, i had prepared myself for a range of 1400 to 1600

Well, I'll be ... !

Turns out that I too gave VT as one of my choices, and yeah I had to find that its actual name is Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
