1550: 800v, 750q

I just finished my GRE and my scores far exceeded my expectations:

800V and 750 Q. In Powerprep1 I got 740 V and 710 Q, and in Powerprep2 780 V and 740 Q, so this was better than either one. All other preps showed me doing far more poorly than I did.

Verbal wasn't too bad; I was well-prepared and didn't encounter any unfamiliar words. I found Quant to be difficult. The questions weren't harder than anything I've encountered before, but I was running out of time with the last 10 questions and had to fill in answers randomly, without even having a chance to read the problem. Fortunately the last few were very easy and I could do them without trouble even in the constraints of time that I had.

In quant I had one combination problem and one normal distribution problem. There were quite a few geometry problems and one that involved finding the volume of a cylinder. The DI questions weren't hard but I was rushing at that point and could barely even take the time to read the graphs, so I just guessed. Moral of the story, you can guess blindly through 1/3 of the test and still score in the 700s.

I was very happy with the issue and argument topics that I was given as they were easy for me to comment on and evaluate.

My math score isn't that great percentile-wise but I'm very happy with it
and for the programs that I"m applying to the high math score isn't really necessary.

Thanks to all of you on this board. I only found the site about a week and a half ago but it helped me enormously.

Question: How do I find out which questions I missed? There were no instructions on the screen about that.

Oh never mind. I just found out that there's a $50 fee. I'll just have to live without knowing....

Congratulations! You don't sound thrilled though. Perfect scores in one subject and a high score in the other is better than very high in both, if you know what I mean. It just looks better.

You've reminded me to go and take a look at the normal distribution again. Was the question hard?

Be glad you're done with it, and don't have to give it again..and, best of luck for the future! tc.

Thanks Geek. I'm happy with my Q score but not ecstatic, if you know what I mean.
