Well, Im happy that the nightmare is over.

I took iBT test in Samara State University in Russia.
There were 6 takers with me.
Conditions was absolutely perfect, modern computers, air-conditioner and no crowd at all.

About the test:
1) Reading:
First - 20 minute - one passage
Second - 40 minutes - two passages
Third - 40 minutes - two passages
I didnt specially remebered their topics: was text about Independence of Brazil, Bird singing, American railroad history and others.

2) Listening:
First: 10 minutes - 3 passages
Second - 10 minutes - last 3 listening passages.
Can't remember the topics, but they were not so tough.

Time break: 10 minutest: I drank a tea

and focused on next parts

3) Speaking: It was simple.
No tough topics.
Advice: speak loudly and clear! Main problem of near takers were that they speak too quiet. Dont think that you disturb some guy near you.

4) Writing: I got tired, wrote in first section 157 words, and 310 in independent section.
Sorry, can't remember topics. Tired.

About my preparation: 3 weaks in September and 2 weaks in August.
Books advice: Delta iBT(Reading, Listening, Speaking), Longman(Reading, Speaking), Barrons(all sections)
ps: use Barrons test only for the last week before the test.

I need at least 80 score for Phd in CS.

Hope to get scores at middle of October.
Next step - GRE general at november.

ps: dont ask me, please, to send you a materials, they all in internet, use google

Writing tasks:
1. The reading passage was about the policy of the US govern on funding artists and art organizations. The lecturer presented opposite idea against the reading passage.
2. Do you agree or disagree that "some people buy product not because they want, but because other people use it"?

hey guys,
i am extremely happy today i just got the result and damn finally i got the magic 26!its been a tortured for me since i took my 1st ibt last year and it took me 4 times to passed the speaking.I don't want to sound arrogant but i really speak well in English but still struggling to hit the magic 26.But finally the battle and long wait is over.My only piece of advice is keep practicing till you get the right rhythm and intonation pattern it is very important that you dont sound monotonus or mechanical when you speak.You must speak in normal manner and be confident when you speak.Aside from this, be focused during the test its very important that you are calm and at ease when you speak so that you dont sound shaky.This forum help me alot so i want also to share my ideas and experiences.First try to make some sample response for the independent tak 1 and 2 so that when you heard the question 1 and 2 it will be automatic or atleast you have ideas how to attack the ind. question.For campus situation try to anticipate some problems that usually encountered inside the campus because it will widen your thought and ideas and surely it will improved your vocabulary.Some question might be similar in some practice test so, you have the edge already how to manage and outline your response.For academic task its very important to practice alot coz i find it really hard particularly if you get those hard lectures.For instance in task 4 its very important that you connect the important information from the lecture and how it is related in the information presented in the reading passage bec. mostly we try to summarize the reading and lecture which we are not ask to do.Just do your best guys and God will do the rest.Good luck to all test takers!
