June 20th and rescoring...

I got my results yesterday and unfortunately I got R-27, L-22, S-24 (need 26!!!) W-22 (need 24). I am really surprised with my speaking part. I think I did well...:-( On my report I got the results and they gave me maximum points for q3, q4, q5, q6 (3.5-4.0) and only 2.5 for q1 and q2. I am soooo surprised because these questions were easier than the rest...so I asked for re-scoring. My writing was also quite good. They wrote that I did not mention the main ideas...well, I decribed them very accuratelly with details. I am frustrated. I really think that I did better so now I wait for rescoring results. Is anyone in similar situation? Do you have a clue how long I have to wait for the rescoring results? I do not know whether I should register for another test or wait...please help.

I have a quick question.. can we ask for writing and speaking rescore at the same time??

beacause I took the test on June 12th, and my results as :R:25, L:25, S:24, W:22

Yes you can rescore both sections but be careful because you have to do both of them at the same rescore request. Go to ETS website. download the rescore form. then check speaking and writing. then fax it. Good luck

This is uncommon, people tend to lose points on Q 3-6. what are the comments about Q1 and Q2 ?
Nevertheless, revise the structure of your answer with someone who has good experience on the TOEFL-ibt Speaking, maybe you stated reasons but you didn't provide progressive details about them. Good Luck with the rescore.

Luma-I was practicing with a very good tutor. He has never given me lower score than 3.0 for q1 and q2. I think I did well. I gave reasons and supported them with examples and details. They wrote that my grammar or incorrect vocabulary affected understanding...I am surprised because for q.3~q.6 I got the highest score and they wrote that my grammar and vocabulary were very good... I answered to all of the questions the same way, I was well prepared and I am really surprised. I even thought that they scored someone else on q1 q2

So the score is inconsistent with your preperation and the performance of the other questions, hopefully the rescoring will change the score.

Speaking of tutoring, how much does it improve your speaking skills ?

Luna-my tutor helped me to understand how to prepare to those particular questions. What to do with time, how to use the reading and listening material to prepare the answer. My background is good, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary-all these things are okey. What I have learnt:The integrated questions must stay integrated so it is not enough to summarize what was in the reading passage and listening. It is neicessary to combaine those two, show what is the difference or similarity between them. I think I have learnt a lot.

Yes, I too realized that during preperation. Can't wait until my score is out
