Hi I joined this forum because i need help to ace the IBT i am the only one who took the test 14 times since 2006 i applied for rescoring 2 times during the years i took online lessons, bought all kind of books available and of course studied hard..I need 26 for pharmacy license, I got 27 once on june 12 2009 but the reading was less than required score. All other times i got 24,22,20,19,18 . If you think you have an advice for me please do not hesistate to post it here. Thank you.

iam a pharmacist too so i know what you are talking about i have so many friends who took IBT more than you( may be 20 times ) & none of them pass it except 2 or 3 of them & it was by luck when they ordered rescoring for 4 or 5 times , iam not saying that to make you desperate but to let you know that you are not alone in this tuff situation
MY advice is to try TSE and it is much easier than ibt , i belive you can get the score from the 1st or 2nd attempt .that is what happend with me & my friends , it was our first trial in the TSE & most of them are working so they didnot have a time to study ( i belive it is amircle & GOD looked to our suffering ) and i belive that GOD will do it with you
But the big challange is to find aplace here in USA ( if you live here ) because all the places were reserved 5 months ago , so the solution for this proplem which i know from some friends just did it for TSE ON jan 17 , 2010 is to reserve a seat in another country which still have avalibe seats like ( phlipine , libya, sudan ,etc) then call ETS to transfare your seat to USA , of course it is not easy but in the cases that i know , they successed in that
you can review my previous posts to see that i have alomst no hope to pass the exam but only faith & by faith i got 50 ( i didnot do well at all , i didnot take ibt before & i donot speak fluent english although i live in USA for several years now )i took PBT on oct 17 & iam waiting for the results which will be released with in 3 weeks to get my certificate by Faith ( GOD is good )
AT the end this my advice & it is up to you ( pray & GOD will guide you for the best ) , you can still take ibt whileyou are waiting for the TSE

hi, I am on the same boat. I am also a pharmacist. I took the exam twice and in both cases I needed one more point

On my first attempt I got R-27, L-22, S-26, W-22. Next time I got R-22, L-23, S-24, W-24. I have no idea what to do as I studied really hard and I felt like I did a really good job with my speaking section last time. However, the score is worse...
Bedtime-where are you from? I live in US. Maybe we can somehow help each other.

I am in the same boat. And I tried a lot on Ibt, three times so far. And no luck ,believe or not I studied here in an American university in a special certififcate for an year and I graduated with honor. In addition, I took "Speech class" that my overall grade was B+ which was a superior score than a lot of Americans in the same class.

My advice is to rescore if you know you did well. It worked twice for me. First time I got 24 and after rescoring 26, and second time I got 24 again! and after rescoring 27!!! Someone asked if it is possible to get 26 without rescoring. Well, based on my experience- it is impossible, however I took the test only twice.
Good luck and keep trying, do not let them win!

I got my results on 22nd of Oct, applied for rescoring the same day (I knew I did better). Then I got my confirmation on 27th of Oct and the new result revealed today. I got 3 points more!

Hi , I took the toefl IBT twice.. first time i got R:20 L:26 S:27 W: 22
so i took it again and I got R:26 L:26, S:26 W: 22
so i took it 3rd time and i got R:23 L:24 s:26 w:28 I believe you just have to be calm during the exam . the worst thing ever is to sit next to some loud guy or girl who messes up everything for you.. i complained during the exam about the person next to me .
