Score 117, some thoughts....

Hi, just received my scorecard reading 117 - R-30, L-30, S-28, W-29. I thought it would be nice to share some things i feel could be of little help, specially since I've been browsing around asking for help which people have been kind enough to extend.

- Questions that are of the kind "what does the word "altered" mean in the passage..." are best answered by selecting the dictionary meaning of the word than any other, if in doubt (such doubts arise more than u would think). As a simple example: "Andy altered the fuel injection system to work better."
a) changed
b) improved
c) blah
d) blah
d) blah

both (a) and (b) will do fine in place of "altered", but (a) should be chosen. Such confusion, it it is there, will usually not be as simple as this, but i hope u get the point.

- While speaking, your concentration should not be on speaking correctly and fluently with right pronunciation. Instead, speak naturally and concentrate on content. You will do better by stating all the points in properly constructed sentences (even if u fumble) rather than if u miss a point but are relatively fluent.

- For the written, you may only need to use one or two good words in the passage to improve the profile of the essay (vocabulary wise). Few words will fit in almost all situations so you know what to do

Others might be in disagreement with what I have to say, so I'd better state that these are just my thoughts, naturally, opinions might differ.

I took two sample tests from barrons IBT CDROM, I wasn't able to get the summary questions right initially so saw a few more examples of summary questions, that's all actually.
