The Speaking Magic 26 and the Writing Magic 24
I am just wondering if what are the exact detail/description for a score of 26 in speaking... a score 24 in writing... how many good and fair do we need in speaking?.... how about in writing ? do we need to get the good grade in two essays? ... thanks.. goodluck to all test takers....

That is a big confusion for me. On the speaking part, before I got 2 fairs, 1 good and got 24 score...now...my last test on may 30th, i got 2 goods and 1 fair but still got 24! Isn't this test sooooo unfair!!!!

I would suggest that go for rescoring. There must be a mistake for giving a score of low 24 when they had given you a rating of 2 goods 1 fair. You deserve a higher score than that....There is something wrong with this scoring system, no wonder why they called them ETS gods. UNBELIEVABLE...huh

Hey guyz can you tell me the procedure to apply for rescoring? What are the chances of getting 26 in speaking after getting 23 with 3 fair grades? You can mail me at naomi.lida@yahoo.com
Thanks! |

considering for rescoring the 23 rating in speaking with the details of 3 fairs is hard to judge. Well, if you have lot of mola, you can go for it. Rescoring for 3 fairs and hoping to leap for magic 26 is like a gamble, but who knows unless you try. Just pray that the ETS gods would be on your side...

Hello guys,
What do you mean by "two good, one fair" or "two fair, one good"??? Speaking section has 6 task, so it should be a set of 6 "good" and/or "fair". Where do I misunderstand??? Or do they divide the speaking section into 3 groups: First two questions are the 1st group, then the next two and last two belong to other two groups? I need only 18 for speaking. Is it hard? How many "good" and "fair" do I need? Thanks for clarifying these for me. |

Hi Muaxuanve,
Yes you're right with your latter speculation about rating in speaking section. If you need only a 18 score, 3 fair is ok.. but of course to make it sure try to get some 1 good.. there are some test takers here that got 3 fair in speaking, however their score came out differently in number. They range from 21-24...no one knows how they exactly score our answers. |
