Please help! TOEFL iBT Writing rescore?

Hi,

I received my 23rd Aug TOEFL scores today. My scores are :
R - 29
L - 24
S - 26
W- 21

But i need 24 in writing. I got a fair in the 1st writing task and a good in the 2nd writing task. Are both GOOD's required? Should I go in for resoring? Are there chances of my score improving from 21 to 24? Please advise. Did anyone face a similar issue as mine?

yes my friend iam also in the same boat.I too got 21 in writing and need 24.In my last attempt i got 24 so i have applied for rescore.After your experience i feel they might have skipped a section.Bcos i expected 28 as that was the only section i did very well.i have applied for rescore let us hope we both get our required marks.i anyway am giving the test again on 20 sept as i booked before .hope to get a positive reply .all the best

Yes, in my previous attempt, I too got a 28 in writing. This is really weird! I am also giving the test again on 27th Sep. But I hope we pass it in the rescoring itself. All the Best!

I too got 22 in writing, but I need 24. Could you please tell when you guys applied for a rescore and how much time it usually takes for a rescore to complete. I am waiting since 2 weeks now.

I also got the followings in my 2nd attempt

R 28
L 28
S 23
W 20

While in the 1st attempt I got

R 18
L 26
S 26
W 24
I don't know what to do now to pass this exam and get my FPGEC .Do you advice me to do rescore in writing & speaking sections for the 2nd attempt !!!!!!!!,or it won't worth it.

Hey Shhaly,

I applied for re-scoring yesterday itself as soon as I got my result in the system.
Well, I think it takes about 2-3 weeks from the date of re-score service requested as per the system.(which is usually 1 week after you have faxed ETS your re-score form)

i just got my toefl score and i only need 2 points to get into o college.this was my first toefl-ibt and i'm unsuccessful now because of this 2 points.i send the rescoring application 2 days ago.my question is when will i get the result and will the score change?is it possible to have 1 point each to speaking and writing sections?hope u got any ideas and can help me.. thanks

I got a template for the writing section. I scored a perfect 30 in the writing section with it.

Here is the writing template :

Basically, I wrote about 350 words for the integrated task and about 500 words for the essay. This template is a great guidance. Use it and tell me how many points you won thanks to it.


NB: It also really helped me to score AWA 5.5 for the GMAT as I didn't spend time to figure out how to structure my essay. As a result, I spent time only on the strength of my arguments.
