Okay, here's an old one. I bet a lot of you know it already:

A man is riding up an elevator to go back to his apartment. The elevator stops suddenly, between floors. He says, "My wife just died."

Why?

Did his wife really died?
Did the man stop the elevator?
Did he have a cell phone?

Is he an ordinary man? Does he have some special powers?

Yes. He was going home, he knew his wife was there, and when the elevator stopped, he knew his wife would die (actually, one thing I don't like about this puzzle is that it would probably not actually happen in the real world (for one reason I will bring up after you get it), but these puzzles are like this...)
