I did just that yesterday about those like the one not a million miles from your post but see they're still there. Are the ones in question OK or did you not get anything from me? There seemed to be server peculiarities at the time.

I m placed with Infosys for June 2008(m in 3rd year right now).. Always wanted to do MS but after being placed friends and relatives are confusing me... I see the following alternatives, please suggest me what u wld have done if u were in my condition..
1. Chuck Infy and apply for MS in June 2008
2. As there is no bond, do the 6 months training and then apply in spring 2009, infosys training wld atleast give me a little edge over others.
3. Work for an year then apply for MS in mayb June 2009.
4. Let Infy sent me to US and then do an MS there, mayb it wld take atleast 2-3 years.
5. Is there any possibility if Infy sponsoring for MS in I agree for serve them for next 2-3 years?

please guide me....

I've acted on all reports, and I didn't see anything from you. And yes, the server is always kind of up and down. I try to stay on top of it, but sometimes, things happen. Its a very personal decision, Simba. If you feel very strongly about going for an MS, then you should not be influenced by your relatives or friends and just go ahead with application. But it seems to me that you are confused and are not able to make up your mind. So my suggestion is that you take the job for a year and then apply for MS next year. There and many reasons why I suggest this:

1. You will get a chance to see how the job is like and decide if you want to stay with the job for the rest of your life or go back to school. That way you will make an informed decision and there will be no regrets later.

2. Job experience is always a good thing to have in your resume when you apply.

I do not know if you can do an MS thru Infy. You should ask someone who works there about it. But let me warn you that if you wait for a long time (say 3-4 years) before applying, then it becomes very difficult to quit your job and get back to school. Having a job is a very convenient thing and you will get used to it. The luxury of a job and having your own money might reduce your motivation to study more. So give it "a year" and then make up your mind. Good luck!
