I hope you guys can comment on my question here. I am planning to apply to PhD programs. Suppose I apply this year and get rejected at the schools that I want, let's say because of low scores at GMAT/GRE. Would it negatively affect my chances the next year when I apply again, even if I improve my test scores later?
Second question is about being a foreign national. Some schools announce their medium GMAT/GRE scores of accepted applicants. Is it true that generally you need to get significantly higher scores than the medium if you are a foreign national? (That is, even though you have a graduate degree in a decent school else where in the U.S.) I am asking this question because graduate schools often apply different standards to foreign students. In case of GMAT or GRE general, I would have thought that foreign nationals would tend to score low in these tests because of the verbal part, all things being equal. At least, I have hard times with the verbal parts. But do graduate schools in business expect higher scores from foreign students? |
