Hi

This is Vamsi, from Hyderabad, India.
Iam giving to give GMAT this august and planing to apply for 2006 fall.

Can some one please let me know the chances of me getting into some good ones.. iam seriuosly looking at Yale, Purde, CMU.

Here is my profile:

Age: 25 by fall 2006.

Undergrad : B. Tech in Mining Eng.from ISM, India, GPA = 2.71/5.00
Work Ex: 1 year as a sales eng. for Atals Copco.
1 year as a entrepreneur.
presently as Product devloper and Marketting Anlyst for a sft ware co.

Volunteer Exp. Active for ASHA.
has started a movement chaloo school to educate the parents of under previliged students to send back their chldren to school

Very good extra cirucular.

GMAT - lookin at 720 +

ur GPA is not very good(to be polite)TOP 30 demand atleast 3.00 GPA out of 4.00

Vamsi,

You've to get a good gmat score to offset your weak GPA. As Bond pointed out Top 30 schools are normally very strict about academic requirements. You should also get ready to address your weak gpa through supplementary essay. But still if you can manage a 700+ GMAT then the admissions committee might give you the benefit of doubt! All the best for your GMAT test.
