Hi everybody!
I'm an European student and I'd like to apply for MBA with entrepreneurship specialisation. Concerning my profile
-I'm gonna be graduated in Junes 2003 at my University after having been studying for 5 years and having done one exchange program.
-The score I got at the GMAT test is 540
-I've got one year of work experience (internships)

My 2 questions are:

-With my profile, can I be admitted in schools that "recommend" but don't "require" work experience?
-Are the MBA program which don't require but recommend a professional experience good even so?

I hope u'll answer me...
thanks

from everything i've heard internships don't really count towards the work experience requirement. In my case, i spent my last two summers at college doing internships as well as internships over the summer but have been told that they these dont count.
as far as getting into schools which dont require work experience...i know this girl who graduated from bentley undergrad and immediately did her mba a tthe same university. bentley's pretty low on the ranking though so, i think your hunch is correct - namely that to get into a decent university, something like insead in europe, you'll require substantial work experience. but then i read in the wall street journal about some kid who went straight from BU to stanford mba. i think that kid's a freak case though.

You should look over the stats in all the traditional places--usnews.com, businessweek.com, etc.--and see where you fit in. Your GMAT score is a bit on the low side for the top schools, and your lack of work experience won't help you, I think.

But a lot of the schools have been making a big deal about getting more "non-traditional" students in their programs, so if you've got something special going for you, you might have a chance.

Try this Google search of businessweek.com for information about people applying with little or no work experience. A lot of good hits from that search!
