2007 google school ranking
By popular demand, we now have 2007 school ranking by google.
So every one wants to know if a particular US school is well known or not. Do people know more about Duke than Hass or vice versa? (Disclaiming, not that scientific of course but it gives you an idea how many people know about these schools and talks about them on their websites) Method: I took the first 20 in USNews ranking and google them all such as "Kellogg MBA" with the quote when googling them 1. Harvard University (MA) 195,000 2. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) 159,000 3. Stanford University (CA) 56400 4. New York University (Stern) 55,900 5. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan) 53,100 6. University of California–Berkeley (Haas) 42,800 7. University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (Ross) 32,800 8. Duke University (Fuqua) (NC) 31,600 9. Columbia University (NY) 29,400 10. University of California–Los Angeles (Anderson) 28,500 11. University of Chicago 23,700 12. Dartmouth College (Tuck) (NH) 21,600 13. Cornell University (Johnson) (NY) 20,800 14. Northwestern University (Kellogg) (IL) 20,300 15. Yale University (CT) 17,600 16. University of Virginia (Darden) 15,000 17. University of Texas–Austin (McCombs) 14,900 18. Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper) (PA) 9,880 19. Emory University (Goizueta) (GA) 1,260 20. University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill (Kenan-Flagler) 641 |

I try not to exclude EMBA this year since the beauty of this ranking is to see if someone have heard of the school or not.
So if Duke advertise heavily with its EMBA program, then business executive around the world would have heard about Duke. The same is true for Stanford MBA sloan program, HBS EMBA, Chicago EMBA or PT MBA. |

This post was funny enough to make me stop troll and register.
The date from your analysis can misrepresented by the amount of exposure (visits) these sites recieve. For example: there can be a million blog sites with the phrase "New York University" and gets a visit once a year. On the other hand, "Carnegie Mellon" might be mentioned in websites that get a million hits a month. In the second scenario, Carnegie Mellon will have more exposure and in turn being more heard of. Nonetheless, it was unique and interesting how you ranked these schools. That'll be cool if google did have a college ranking system added to their repertoire. Google trends is also a great comparison tool. E.g. - kellogg vs. wharton
