Hi David,
I aspire to join the MBA in fall 2005. I just finished my GMAT (740 - Q50 V41). I would like to get into top-tier schools and am just wondering my chances of admission. My brief profile is as below. I did my B.Tech in mechanical engineering from India at a good college. Was very active in extra curricular activities and didn't give a dam for my GPA. Got a first class about 65%. I think it translates to about 3.x Even though I was in mechanical engineering I was active part of software events committee and was the best executive member during my first year and convenor during my final year. Was also member of other clubs. Started working soon after graduation and now have an experience of almost 5 years. 2.5 years in India and 2.5 years in UAE. While in India I played different roles starting from team member to offshore team leader. In UAE I work as a consultant. Though my title doesn't say anything I do need to exhibit leadership role and have to deal with people from different nationalities and cultures. I see MBA as a tool to learn identify right oppurtunities and am looking for good MBA program. Its like either I get into a good MBA program or I dont get it. Can you please tell what are my chances. What areas do you think I need to improve. As I have one more year before applying I would like to make up for the lapse and present a strong candidacy. Regards, Basheer. mymba2005@yahoo.com |
