GmatBong,

One of the common Essay questions is:

What are your accomplishments?

Is it all right to list in this essay something very very personal such as overcoming a psychological disorder? Will listing such a thing actually hurt my candidature?

Depends. using in 5-6 essays, you should put in 60% work and 40% personal so adcom can get a sense of who you are. So depends on other essays, you might or might not want to talk about personal stuff.
