Kindly evaluate my chances

Hi,

I would really appreciate if you could find time to evaluate my profile .

I am interested in applying to Stern, Kelley, Texas - Austin, Kenan-Flagler, ISB.... Finance as my specialization.

I am an Indian female working with TCS for 28 months.
GMAT - 710 (Q-49, V-37) AWA - 5.5 (first attempt)
Completed my Bachelor of Engineering from Anna University with 83%.
12th - 93%(State Board)
10th - 77%(CBSE)

Currently pursuing Diploma in Business Administration (Distance) at Icfai. This is to bridge the gap since I am from technical background. (To make myself comfortable with Financial and Management Accounting)

Work Experience details:

• 12 months - team member (Java developer)
• 9 months - Team Lead
• 7 months - Project Lead

Extras

• Apart from this I have been instrumental in getting an important project for TCS from the client Bank of America.
• Won prizes in paper presentation in College days.
• Was college topper in fifth semester.
• Associated with "Sneha" organisation (which deals with psycologically upset ppl by counselling them)
• Taken up certification in Financial Markets by NSE and secured 82%.

Kindly evaluate my chances of getting an admit into specified schools...
If its too high an aim, what are the other schools I can look at....

You are not aiming too high but you should stop getting the business admin diploma since it will hurt your chances more than help you.

BTW, what are some of your ExtraCurr? besides work?

Thanks for your suggestion....
As far as my extra cur. is concerned,
1. I am the president of the colony association where I currently reside. Duty- To manage the everything ...starting from holding regular meetings, managing the administration(salary for the ppl working, arranging for regular painting, co-ordinating with house owners....etc ...etc)
2. I am an active volunteer with Isha Foundation (a non-profit org)
3. I have been instrumental in collecting funds for Nethrodaya(org. for blind ppl) by organising cultural events and getting sponsors and also selling tickets.
4. Won many interschool and college volley ball matches.

and few other volunteering experiences

Btw, I would like to know why the diploma would be a block.... COs I thought it would help me get am admit....

Getting a diploma is different than just taking some rudimentary classes such as calculus or econ.
The thing is if you already get the business know-how from the diploma, why bother to apply for bschool? just go with your diploma and find a job - this is how most bschool adcom will think.
