Please evaluate my chances...
I just took the GMAT for the first time and received a 690 (Q49-90th percentile V35-75th percentile).
I am a 24 year old caucasian male and I am in my third year of work with Blackrock in an investment management capacity. I have passed two levels of the CFA exam and will be taking level 3 in June. I also have many volunteering and extra curricular activities that I am involved with. My undergrad is from the University of Maryland Business School and I graduated with a 3.55 GPA. I am interested in NYU and Columbia mainly. I think I can improve my GMAT score if I take it again, but the problem is that time is not on my side. Should I retake the GMAT or just work on building strong applications and what are my chances of getting accepted to one of these schools? I appreciate the feedback! |

with 690 you probably could get in NYU. Columbia will like to see higher GMAT. Not sure what kind of extraCurr you have but assuming they are good, your only issue is to break away to stand out or well, fit in. Maryland is tier 2 school and so is Blackrock. The two combos are now the limiting factor in your app - not so much with NYU but has an effect on Columbia.
