Profile evaluation request.

Hi,
Here is my profile.

Nationality: Indian
Age: 31
GMAT: 690(90%) (Q:47 (81%), V:37(82%), AWA:4(26%))
Education: Bachelor in Mining Engineer from College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Anna University.

Work Experience
8.5 years full time with one of the top IT company. Currently a Technical Architect leading a team of 35 people. This is my first and only job so far.

Extra Curricular activities:
- Member of the cricket team in University and
- Active member of a local social welfare organization.

I am planning to apply for 1 year program in Oxford, London Business School, HEC Paris and IMD Swiz. My application has been rejected by INSEAD.

I was wondering if i stand a realistic chances with the other colleges or if should i be try to improve my GMAT and AWA scores? Also does the fact that i have been with the same organization affect my chances?

its not your GMAT or AWA. It has something to do with your school as well as your demographic of IT and job.

It doesn't stike the Adcom that you are a well-rounded applicant and you are not exactly leading the team in the sense that you have no real "hiring" or "firing" authorative power. Architech is a technical role and percieve as not a management role.

Having said that, Oxford probably will be easier for you to get in. LBS and IMD are unlikely since you have no real management exp. after 8 years in IT.

Thanks GMATbong. Thanks for your time in evaluating my profile. Infact this is a huge morale booster as i was contemplating to appear for GMAT to improve my scores and AWA.

Infact i have been doing project management until the last 2 years. I guess, i would have to highlight those aspects as well in my application. Will that make any difference?

project management is better than tech. architect but its not exactly bus. dev which is much better for well rounded purpose.

The issue with having so much WEx without any real authority is a big issue for most top schools. If you are a design architech or military, you will be in a diff category. But for tech companies, you are at a disadvantage.
