Is it worth the giving an explanantion (such as in the optional essay/supplementary area of the application) of a low GPA?
Some people have told me that it's not good to draw attention to this weak area and the adcom officers will think you're playing the violin. Other people have told me that you should give an explanation or the adcom officers will think you are trying to hide something. So what is it? What should I do? I personally think that the adcom officers have heard every reason known to mankind and they will view it as an applicant just making an excuse. In your professional opinion, how would you advise? |

bottom line: if it strenghtens your application, do it. Otherwise dont.
Now, if your CGPA is too low for the school you are applying and if the reason is never ending partying then I suggest you max out on your GMAT, also take a couple of courses and Ace them. Then the adcoms are confident that you can handle the academic rigor. my opinion. TM. |

Re: Is It Worth Giving An Explanation of Low GPA?
Where can the average GPA for the schools I'm applying be found? Is there a list or something or do you check each MBA program independently?
