About Virginia Tech Pamplin school of business

I am considering pamplin for my mba.
I just want to know how good the college is in different regards eg. alumni, teachers, the courses it offers and most importantly the value of pamplin mba and the post mba job recruitment.

i would be grateful to get those details.

Thanks in advance.

Given its a second and third tier school, you are much better of getting information from recent student than from this forum.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with your MBA. If you are in the US, go visit the school. If you are not in the US and think this MBA will get you a job in the US, it probably won't.

Yes. I know its discouraging but its the reality. By law, US employers must hire qualify US student first before hiring any foreign ones.

Unfortunately, yes.

The only school that might get you a decent job (if you are on H1 visa) with a career change in georgia is emory.

Anita A 's dreams are becoming reality.
GMATbong, I got my MBA from GSU and got a decent job in Atlanta with H1 visa, my co worker has MBA from Georgia tech and she is also sponsored by my company and we are peers.

We are not exceptions, I have known several students who are hired and sponsored even though they are not from top 50 schools.

Now is it that for career changers only things are difficult in terms of getting a job and H1?

Anita, you must have graduate top 50% of your class, right?
Would you say those that did so-so in school, is it the norm that most career changer foreigner get the job they wanted in US with H1B?

I will say this is a hit and miss issue, in good times, 60% will get the job. In todays job market, it's a lot less.

For the poster, best to talk to foreigners of the school and find out if they get the visa or not and are they career changers or not.
