Hi ashish_rec - I'd have to say that Rotman would probably be a better choice if you are interested in consulting. Deliotte's hires a lot of students from Schulich and BCG offers internships and hires from there as well, but McKinsey and Bain tend to hire more from Rotman.
As far as entrepreneurship is concerned, there a some good profs at Schulich in this area. Unfortunately, I can't speak to what Rotman offers in this area. Schulich has a great deal of flexibility and options when it comes to specializations (aka majors) in lots of different areas. The school is also #3 in the world for business and sustainability, so if you're interest is in that type of consulting/entrepreneurship then I would recommend Schulich. Hopefully, that helps and does not add to your confusion! |

in both schullich and rotmans being 2 year mbas, one can apply for Canadian residency in the 2nd year and it comes through by the time your one year work permit finishes. Ivey although is awonderful school, is now one year and that option is limited. In Canada like any other country having a residency makes it so much easier to get a job. so please apply for PR as soon as you can. Schullich also allows you to pay domestic student fees once you file for PR...just on filing!!! thats a huge plus.

ashish,
just a point to remember is that Rotmans is part of Univ of Toronto while schullich is with York and there is no doubt that Toronto towers over York in reputation as a Univ..infact York isnt considered a very good Univ and Canada has many other great Univs. Although MBA is diff, being associated with a great univ has huge benefits and the experience may be better in terms of alumni, infrastructure, location etc. If money isnt too much of an issue, I would go with Rotmans. Rotmans might be better in terms of landing jobs outside Canada if required. best of luck. |
