Admission Questions

Hi all,

First a little background:
White Male, applying for incoming class of 2009 (will be 28)
Engineering Undergrad from UCLA (gpa 2.65) in 2003
Currently I'm at a large medical device company (R&D). Been here for approx 4 years with very good career progression.
I'm also pursuing a MS from Columbia University part time and expect a 3.4-3.6 gpa from that (see below).
I'm confident that I will get 700+ on my gmat.
I have decent extra circulars and leadership from college, but have been limited recently due to the time required for school.

A couple of questions:
1. Do I have a legitimate shot with any top 15 schools? (of course, application must be well executed.)
2. I am reaching the end of my MS program. I did poorly in a Probability and Stats class and I am wondering if I should retake it. It could bump up my overall gpa by 0.1-0.2 (get me over 3.5) also I'm worried that a poor grade in a math class (when I'm trying to use my MS classes as an alternative transcript) will look extra bad.

Sorry for the length. Thanks for all your help.

Seems like your only weakness is your undergrad GPA. And as other aspects of your history are pretty exceptional, I think your still in the running for a top school. Good luck on the GMAT!
