HELP -- "resume" required

Long story short, I've applied to my alma mata's MBA program, the 7 year gap had resulted in a heavy turn over of professors making it a viable option.

I submitted the on-line application. I submitted an essay at 2:30am and I'm not sure it was really fabulous. I have yet to take the GMAT and now they want a resume.

This is a small town university. It never occured to me that they would not admit me. Is the language used by the admissions office intended to antimidate me?

My essay was well thought out, yet I failed to really emphasize what I bring to the classroom. Oops... I know 1/2 the professors and they do know what I brought to the classroom as a non-traditional undergrad. The new admissions staff of course does not know me from Sarah Jane.

So, I have one opportunity left to emphasize what I bring to the MBA program by way of diversity -- the resume. Here in lies the problem, I've been a stay at home mom for 6 years. I've never held a "real" job longer than a few months. I worked from home for the last 5 years in my field, but somehow feel it is insignificant (when it probably isn't).

How far does a resume need to go back? My first part-time job was in 1994. Should I really mention my short employment with a local accounting office? They fired me, we had "misalligned expectations" according to my HR professor. I thought I was there as a student hire, they thought they hired someone else, I guess.

Then there is my brief season of teaching. I left due to complications with my pregnancy. This is all not looking really good KWIM?

I don't suppose the university is going to check out my employment like an employer would. But I'm an honest person. How do I market myself via a resume when there is nothing fabulous to say?
