Hi Everyone.
Just went thru a disaster[Jan 28]...got 500 in my GMAT Although, in my CAT practice sessions [Princeton, KAPLAN, Barrons and ETS Power Prep], I got scores between 650-700, but on the D Day, cuz [was down with the flu], couldnt get everything together. Infact left few quantitive questions [3] and made wild guesses for the last 5 questions in the verbal session. Couldnt cancel or skip the test because the last date for taking the GMAT for the local top business school was Jan 29. Since this score would appear on my scorecard, does this practically end my chances for MBA. Ive heard a reattempt score is equal to the average of the new score plus the previous score(s)[althu this sounds crazy] . Also what negative effect does a previous 500 score have on an applicants chances for admission in a top school. Thnx, and though im really depressed right now, and would love to here a positive reply, but please do give all the facts straight, cuz I really want to know where I stand. Take care all. |

Coollide, the answer is "no". This will definitely not end your chances at good MBA schools. If you do "extremely" well on your next GMAT and if you provide a good reason as to why u failed in the first attempt, you will definitely still be a strong contender in the race. This has happened with me before, but don't lose time being depressed and give the next GMAT your best shot. good luck!
