Hi everyone
,Can anyone tell me how does MBA degree can add benefit to me ? I m completely clueless.. My folks are perusing me for MBA but I m not convinced with the reason that it can increase my chances of getting ‘Hi Pay’ jobs. I will not take any further step until & unless I am completely convinced to do such thing. I m doing Engineering (B.E) in Information Technology & looking forward for MBA.I actually don’t know anything about this curriculum but the same time I am very curious to know about it. Just now the tremendous fall in the MBA fees has really stirred my curiosity. Newspapers were praising the superior quality teaching in IIM & other management school. Everyone was trying to convince that this drastic fall will degrade the ‘Quality Teaching’ of management school. I was shocked to hear such controversial statement because by being an Engineering student I have faced lot many debates & quarrels regarding fee hikes. People always raising their eyebrows whenever there is even li’l raise in Engineering fees & here I saw something very mind-boggling. Now I really want someone from you to explain this to me. And the same time guide me. Basically I have given the GRE (1250 out of 1600)...but have dropped the plans of doing MS(I can explain if anyone really interested !).Now I am in my final semester & want to take some concrete step towards further studies. Can anyone tell me about in MBA with specialization in IT? Please reply me... PS: this is the First time I have posted my message at TestMagic. Hope u guys would take care of this new member. Bye... |

hello sonosmile22,
Reading your post, I conclude that you are a CAT applicant, since you are aiming for IIM's from India. I am sorry if I disappoint you, but this forum is mostly populated with people who take the GMAT and go for MBA (mostly international), if you leave out ISB Hyderabad. So if I were you I would'nt be too optimistic about getting lot of advice here (again I could be wrong). Try googling!. There should be a lot of CAT forums on the net. looks like you are going for an MBA straight after your degree, like many students in India do. However if you are interested in applying to B-schools in US, UK or elsewhere, You might want to gain more W.Exp.. my 2 cents, jay |
