Just took my GMATs and unexpectedly bombed! I suppose a 650 (40m/40v) isn't terrible, but fully expected 700+ when i clicked on the Report Scores button. I'm looking to apply to the part-time program at NYU starting in Jan.

I am 28, with 5 years of work experience at bulge bracket IBs. I am an Associate Director in a Structured Products group, and simply looking to pad my resume with an MBA, not looking to change careers or need the career resources of a full-time program. I think a full-time program isn't necessary for me.

I have a 3.2 GPA from NYU undergrad, no real extracurriculars or anything, given that i worked full-time to pay for school. I was counting on a 700+ GMAT to help offset my relatively low GPA, but obviously that didn't happen.

My GPA and GMAT are both within the 80% range of the part-time program at NYU, but i believe both are slightly below average for NYU. I am banking on my strong work experience to offset both of these now, what does everyone think my chances are?

Not too keen on re-taking the GMATs as i will have to hustle for applications and have the CFA on the horizon as well.
