ESRDs

APHA is using the name ESKDs instead of ESRDs and has chapter 16. I mostly used ProntoPass material but it looks like APHA has covered almost all drugs.

STATISTICS

APHA does not have anything on STATS. ProntoPass has nicely cover this topic. You can check online for pharmaceutical statistics, null hypothesis

Books

Please remember what kind of information Red book, Orange book, Martin Dell book, Merck manual are having?

Hi Temp,
I hope and pray that you passed!!! I`m also foreign grad and so know how you felt the day before exam, I had the same expirience...couldn`t sleep at all. I had about 12 statistics and had no Pronto Pass , which I`m getting now. I didn`t make it and will be retaking it in Nov. So far I`m covering all over APHA,1000 Q& A and getting prontopass.God`s will this time I`ll master it.

Was there any questions that took you by surprise? Did you have to recognize microorganisms that cause certain disease states?
Did you have anticoagulants? I had plenty of those with the specifics for IV administrations. Any of those???

Thanks. Answers to all your questions are YES. It is really common to have those questions to confuse people.

Also ProntoPass last minute material was great help so make sure you have that.

Can you please explain how hard it is to pass their quiz etc. to qualify for the last minute material. I yet have to finish learning their stuff and am planning to give the exam by the end of this month. Is it possible to receive the last minute material if we don't pass their quiz.

There are 3 exams you need to pass.
1. Online Math test (minimum 85%)
2. Online Quick Cards test (minimum 85%)
3. Quiz on Posters

The reason they are doing this is so that they are sure you have really prepared their materials. At last it is really good for you only. They will not quiz you before you complete the first 2 tests successfully. Also they will only quiz you once you have up-to-date posters with you. If they have introduce new posters after you bought material from them then they will send you new posters to you.

Now quiz is fun if you have prepared their posters. This quiz is like the audio cd they sent. I think they are running NAPLEX class in OH so when you call, they will transfer your call to this class. Anybody in the class (STUDENTS AND TEACHER) will ask you questions from any posters. If you do not remember, they will give you hint. For me it was fun. It increased my confidence. If you perform good (does not mean you must answer every question 100% correctly.), they will send you last minute material on RENT. Material includes up-to-date quick cards, some patient profiles, and Q-banks with 1000 questions.

This is what I had to do. They can change rule anytime they want. sg when I bought there was no online test. So when I prepared I called them for quiz and they told me to clear online tests first. Make sure that you know the latest rules from them.

Now back to you. I do not know how prepared you are. If you passed their 3 tests and you do not have enough time then give priority to Qbanks and profiles. If you are not able to get their last minute material then also please don't waste your time and stick to PontoPass material that you have and prepared them really good. At least try to get latest posters from them (they will send you free if you convince them).

Good Luck and work hard for 28 more days!

Hi Temp. Thanks for the useful info on Prontopass. I just looked at their website, and just wanted to clarify, because it states that the last minute materials sent to you after the quiz, are updated quick cards and posters, plus pt profiles. It doesnt state anything about a Q bank of 1000 questions, is that printed material or online? Or is it part of the pt profiles? Since Im running out of time, I just borrowed the quick cards and posters from a friend, so I can't do her online math and quickcard tests, nor the quiz, nor get the last minute materials. Hopefully what I have is enough from prontopass, but it would sure be nice to have the 1000 questions!!
