Just Back from NAPLEX
Hi,
I am just back from the NAPLEX. Here is my experience: Confidence level? Night before the exam I was keep forgetting everything. Tried to sleep early but could not sleep entire night. In the morning tried to go through everything quickly whatever I can. What book/material? ProntoPass, Apha, and internet (Yahoo, Google, Bing) PreNaplex? No. Didn't had time. Now I believe that it would have not matters anyway. What kind of questions were in exam? -20 to 25 maths -2 to 3 statistics -Lots of profiles with multiple questions -Questions on Flu, Cancer, AIDS, Antibiotic, diabetic, migraine, asthma, MS, DMRDS, ESRDS, OTC, heart Disease, Alzheimer, Parkinson -Lots of questions on nutrition -Drugs side effects, dosage forms, SIG -Brand/Generic -Lab test -Toxicity -Medication books -Not much on blood pressure Do they provide Calculator? Basic computer based calculator is always available but you can always request handhold calculator. After exam? Because I had questions from all over I am assuming I have passed but who knows. I am glade that it is over for now. If I had to read that again then I do not know how I am going to handle that. We will see in 2 weeks. Meanwhile next is MPJE. Result I have passed with score 98. I am glad it is over now. My suggestion: I am foreign student graduated 10 years back. I started with APHA and read it 2 times. APHA helped me to cover my basis in detail. Then I started reading ProntoPass. There are so much stuffs to cover and prontopass is the only thing you need. If you are graduated recently then you can directly start from ProntoPass. If not you should start with APHA. I have never seen other material/book so I can not comment on any other book or material. Be confident and try to schedule the exam once you are kind of ready. Last minute ProntoPass material helped me a lot. Please do not skip anything. They are asking questions from all over. Also maths and stats are must. Never ever think of skipping maths and stats. Also please do not skip key disease questions. See, the test is smart test. It is really looking for your weak points. As soon as it finds that, it keeps hitting you with same topics. I am not scaring you but please prepare everything. Hope this helps to somebody! Good Luck to all of you! Last edited by temp : 2009 October 6th at 12:38 AM. |

I would say that you can use KAPLAN review book for revision, but not as your primary source for exam. I also used this book, but in the last week, otherwise I used APHA. Hope it helps.
