Sigh. Then I can't take NAPLEX as long as I don't have a green card. It is so disappointing.

How can you just say that? I do not think you are going to get GreenCard immediately (unless family relation). You will be on H1B visa for few years and then your company will file green card.

In any case as I said, you can get Driver License or STATE ID. You can not just sit at home, do nothing and cry that you are not gonna be able take the NAPLEX. Just go to DMV and find out what exactly you need to get license if you do not have SSN. You will be fine.

Spent half a day searching for information. Here's what I got. For all foreigners who requires a US-issued ID in order to sit for NAPLEX - apply for a state ID instead of a driver's license because the latter requires proof of citizenship/residency.

You'll need 6 points if you don't have a SSN. Request for a letter of eligibility from the Social Security Administration.
Documents you need to be brought to the DMV:
- Foreign passport with a current visa and I-94 - 3 points
- US health insurance card- 1 point
- US bank statement/ATM card/valid credit card - 1 point
- US college ID card (if on student visa) - 2 points
- Letter of ineligibility from the social security administration

There are other acceptable documents counting towards the point system. Check the DMV website.

Although I have not sorted these out yet but there is hope!

I would like to share how easy it is to get a state ID! If you do not have a green card, just collect 6 points proof of identity + Social security card or letter of ineligibility if you do not have SSN....go to the state DMV, get your photo taken on the spot and your state ID will be mailed to you in 2 weeks!
