NAPLEX score transfer suggestion
Anyone having experience with score transfer? I want to keep license active in FL and NJ. How do I do that, apply for both when I apply for NAPLEX or apply for NJ when I pass exams and am registered in FL? Which way is it better or easier?

You can do either way.If you wanna get the license by examination then you need to do score transfer. For score transfer you need to pay 75 $ for each state where you want to send your score. I believe you have to do score transfer before taking test. If you wanna get licensed in one stae the you wanna get licensed in another state then that is called recipocity.

Are you a Foreign Graduate? If you are then you might think twice before wasting your money on a score transfer to NJ. I just got my score transferred to NJ and it turned out that I need to do an internship anyway before getting my license there. They do not accept transfers of internship hours from other states. I am not sure what my options are now. They basically told me that it doesn't matter that you got your license in another state - if you are a foreign graduate you have to do the internship in NJ anyway. That sucks! I will need to ask them what if I want to get my license by reciprocity. I am preparing for a PA MPJE now so I don't wanna deal with that now. I feel like I am being discriminated because of my FPGEC. Anyway - if someone has any experience with NJ please let me know! Thanks guys!

Hi, When I wrote to NJ they wrote back saying I need to do 1440 hr of internship (I did write that I completed 2080 in FL). So I called today and spoke to them and was told that I can score transfer and take NJ MPJE in 1 year. No need to do internship again. Also she said that if I am not moving soon then I can transfer my FL license (by reciprocity) at a later stage.
They already gave me 2 different responses. How should we proceed? |

I really don't know what to do then. I promise I will call them next week and see what they tell me this time. I will give you an update.
Here is what happened in my case. I sent a score transfer pharmacist application in September. They sent all of my documents back saying that I need to do the internship first. So I called them and I started asking how am I supposed to do the internship when I am licensed in another state where I live and work. The answer I got - "we don't know". I was very upset and decided to leave it since I was studying for NAPLEX. Once I passed NAPLEX I got a letter that my score was transferred to NJ. I called NJ and asked again what should I do. The first question I got was "are you a Foreign Graduate?" I said "yes" and the women told me that in this case I need to send them a notarized copy of my FPGEC and letter requesting approval to start an internship. So now I am confused big time - I am gonna start working as a pharmacist in PA soon and I am really wondering how am I gonna do it? Lets keep each other posted. Thanks! |

I forgot to add that I asked directly about the internship hours transfer and the woman told me that NJ board does NOT accept the transfer of hours from a different state - I guess in case of a Foreign Graduate...

A word of caution: I was planning to do a score transfer and thought it could be postmarked the day of the NAPLEX, little did I know that they'd changed the rule to having to send it in a week before your exam, so be sure to check the latest version of the bulletin!!

Ok, so I decided to write an inquiry letter to the NJ board. I don't want to talk on the phone with someone who is maybe not qualified to answer my questions. I will keep you posted on my case. I would appreciate if you do the same. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks a lot!
