Hello everyone

For those who have attempted Naplex, I want to know how much time we should spend memorizing the doses , I mean for top 200 we should memorize or for as many drugs as we can.

I am little confused, the way APHA has mentioned max doses for e.g
celexa.......initial dose 50-75mg/d and dose range is75-300mg. Please tell me which one is the correct max dose. I know when it says range, it means in some cases large doses were reported.

Similarly Paxil.....initial dose is 10-20mg/d and dose range is 20-80mg/d.

I did not use the Apha for the max dose.
I have used naplex digest and which is no longer available. But it might come back soon. Try checking the site naplexdigest .com

YOU NEED TO REMEMBER MAX DOSE PER DAY (NOT THE LOWER RANGE, ONLY UPPER RANGE).

In naplex digest they explained with the facts like let's say... you want to remember paxil max dose which is 20 mg.

They write like "PArrot always fly 20 or 50 (not sure) feet above sea."
("PA" ~ PAxil; 20/50 feet ~ 20/50 mg)

Easy to remember but you need to read at least three times...

Pronto pass says max dose for paxil is 50 mg. I have just checked the poster. Where could be the mistake, por favor, El Señor check yours. Do you have your copy of naplex digest.

I don't remember exact but I will check it for you from my notes. Right now I am not home so can not access my notes. I don't have copy of the naplexdigest as it was online subscription which is expired now.

I think either you misunderstood what Naplex Digest meant or you have mistaken the max dose of Paxil. Based on my work experience, Paxil generics come as either 10, 20, 30, or 40mg; and Paxil C.R comes as 12.5, 25, or 37.5mg; and Paxil liquid is 10mg/5ml. Therefore, its max dose per day is obviously not 20mg as you wrote above.

It's actually max of 50mg per day.

What Naplex Digest meant was 20/50 feet ~ 20/50mg = initial dose is 20mg (normally) per day, could be titrated by 10mg, and max is 50mg per day.

Now that max 50mg/day is what we talk about under normal treatment such as Depression. Some disorders such as Panic which has max of 60mg/day.

My 2 cents.

You are right about the max dose.

I checked my notes and it says that you could start with 20 mg and maximum you could titrate upto 60 mg(for depression otherwise it's 50 mg). But important thing is - "it must be QD (not BID or TID) i.e. do not divide to doses.".

Read the maximum doses and if you've had a lot of internship experience that should help you pick out something that seems unusually high or low, but I woudn't spend tons of time on it.
