Naplex important topics

Hi,

I took naplex 2 months ago and got only 65.i felt the exam was so easy including calculation part.The next day when I checked most of my questions were correct.The samething happened with few of my friends,but I know one friend did BS in USA took exam last month,was so scared as she got so many tough questions,but scored 143.

So what I understood is I might have done my tough and moderate questions wrong,thatwhy I got so many easy questions,eventhough I did easyones correct, they scored only few points.

So if u do so many tough questions correct,there r good chances of passing.

With my experience I feel the following r few of the imp topics for naplex



.OTC-pain killers, antacids, lice killing, hemarroids,laxatives

• Dosage forms available – exclusive ones like,zpack,imitrex,zyprexazydus, injections (roa),capsules can be spinkled onto food.,disintegtating tab,powders.
• ADR – induction inhibition, for common side effects, severely causing and the least. Ex: most sedating anti histamines and non-sedating, tb drugs vs hepatitis
• chemodrugs-causing nausea or alopecia severly
• drugs need vitamin supplementation,most common vitamins-dose in specific deseas like osteporosis.
• simple questions on herbals-uses,contra.
• labeling-with or without food,tyramine,maoi,refrigerate.take bedtime –not or before breakfast,
• patient conselling-on asthma devices,reconstitution,oral vs intra nasal inhalations,(insert demonstrative pronoun here) coloration of urine,about appearance of capsule particles in stool.
• nicotine-dosageforms,weight reduction treatment.
• alternate treatments-migraine,shcyzophrenia ,penicillin allergy.
• exclusive sideeffects for drugs- like lacticacidisis,hemorragiccystitis,rednecksyndrome, reynaulds phenomin,reyes syndrome.
• pruritis,onychimycosos,rosacea,pcp,acne, treat,symptoms
• reference sources-compounding,pill identifiucation.etc.
• peoper techniques for using devices like peak flow meter readings,asthama devices.glucose meters.
• diabetics-with or without food.hypoglycemia with alcohol,exercise,hypoglycemia treatment sugar is ok for all drugs except precose.
• TBdrugs vs hepatitis
• vaccines -schedule for infants,used and contra in pregnancy,healthworkers,aids patients and,their brand names like prevnar,IPBS,u can get this inf online at www.cdc.gov
• potassium-so many brand available,know the difference.
• new drugs like-neulasta,epogen,neupogen,humira,boniva,lunesta.,
• C.difficle,taxoplasmosis,BPH.
• Monitering therapy for drugs like tb drugs,methotrexate,heparin,warfarin etc.

These r only very few,i feel happy if this information helps u in passing the exam.

Are u done with your exam. now? actually, one of my friends got 94 on pharmasucess, and in real test she only got 70.

Good list raj--looks like my exam!
I would know psych pharmacology well too--i had a lot of schizophernia questions also know what to do with a drug if peak is high or trough is low(vancomycin)--i had 5-6 questions on of the theory of this situations.

The same thing happend with me . I studied throughly APHA,cpr,appleton ,i also did KAPLEN notes ,i mean the thousand question . ALL of my freinds say they took OFF only 15 days
or month , And they all passed.
I dont know whats wrong with me . Raj where ar yu located .
I am in california. did yu take your law test.
So whats your plan of action for next time. ar yu working right now.

I Took Naplex On 24th Of Feb, Yesterday I Got My Result. This Site Really Helped Me To Focus On Imp Topics ,thank You All .

Know About All Diseases That U Encouter While Studying ,and Their Method Of Transmission, I Got Many Questions On Antibiotics, Book Refernces (6), Calculations(~20),statistics(5-6) And Rest On Everything .
