Took the CT MPJE
Hi, neilzep,
I took the Connecticut MPJE last Monday. I haven't received the score yet, but I feel like I failed. It was tough because a LOT of the questions had nothing to do with CT law or Federal law. And if they did, I have no idea where they pulled the questions from. In fact, I'm right now studying for the Vermont MPJE, and I found LOTS of the answers to the questions in the CT exam in the VT laws! Go figure... My advice is study the state laws, Federal laws on CS and general dispensing laws, and use common sense. There were lots of OTC questions. Some of them were quite tricky: answers varied slightly on wording or numbers. And some of them were quite picky like: what is the maximum fine for civil penalties? Choices were $250, 500, 1000, 5000. Beats me...there are different grades of maximum penalties in CT law...was very confusing. Good luck. |

Hi,
I studied the Strauss and the Pharmacy Digest from Facts and Comparisons. I also ordered the Schroff CDs, and felt that the questions on the CDs were too easy. Way too easy. It gave me a false sense of confidence! I ordered the pharmsuccess practice test, and I scored 72, and apparently, the scoring on that practice test mirrors the actual MPJE. I hope not!! ![]() CT law in 1990? I took the FDLE for Illinois in 1995. It was scantron back in those days! This computer adaptive stuff is totally new to me. Good luck on your exam! |

Yep,1990,feel ancient!!....Uconn class of 1990....I left rx for 4 yrs, coming back to it, so they want me to take the exams over or do intern hours!!,i chose the former. Took that exam by shroff on Cd, got 83 last month, hate to say this i was just guessing on some of those CS questions, remembering how much codeine in 100cc to make a Class 3 drug is not exactly fun!
Hate to say this Picacho, the MPJE looks tough, let me know how you did. Btw i ordered Reiss's law book,Strauss didnt cut it for me. Hope you pass! |

study materials
Hi, neilzep,
I just got my score today, and I passed with an 82. I never thought I'd pass! Seriously. I was depressed for the last 7 days! This is surprising. The Schroff CDs were ok, but I felt that the questions were too straightforward and did not apply the questions to practice settings. I haven't practiced in 10 years (been in the drug industry); so I think I would have benefitted from more practice-related questions on the CD. Have you taken the exam yet? If not, I would suggest the Pharmacy Law Digest from Facts and Comparisons. Looking back, it had lot of the answers to the questions, like OTC stuff. It has a good explanation on reverse distributors and how the DEA form 222 works for reverse distributors. Also, the Pharmacist's Guide to CSA found on the DEA website is helpful: http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pu...rm_content.htm I found this site from a Wash U professor webpage. It is a general guide that applies to all states. I found it very helpful. http://www.pharmacy.wsu.edu/courses/...2/Statelaw.htm If you're taking the CT exam, pay attention to the little things like the minimum number of hours a pharmacy has to stay open. The response time for change in name and address of pharmacist or intern or etc. They even asked about how long the temporary pharmacist permit was good for. They asked what the required equipment is for topical compounding... Anyway, good luck on the test! |

hi
Good deal Picacho, good to get this stuff out of the way,its tough when we have graduated from bygone eras!! Thxs for the links,if i dont pass the law, just suck it up for a month and pay another $100,thats way i figure it,but the naplex failing scenario is not nice, another $430 and 3 months
I dont see me doing that, i got a 125 on the pharmsuccess practice cd and been studying off and on for 4 months. Good luck with yr rx career! Neilzep |
