please ,can anyone explain (CPR-5 edition)
The effects of food and antacid on the bioavailability of antihypertensive agent were studied 24 men, using a three-way crossover design .the results of this study are summarized (table below).compare with fasting, what results did the study show?
Treatment Cmax(mcg/ml) Auc(mcg*hr/ml) Tmax(hr) Fasting 95+/-10 450+/-115 1.5+/-1.1 With antacid 106+/-18 498+/-123 1.0+/-1.2 High-fat breakfast 75+/-11’ 423+/-110 2.4+/-1.3’ Results are expressed as the mean+/-SD ‘Compare with fasting ,p </equal 0.05 1. The high fat breakfast had no significant effect on the bioavailability of the drug 2. The antacid significantly increased the extent of systemic drug absorption 3.
