Question on otitis media
Can anyone answer
1.what is the drug of choice for Recurrent otitis media? 2.Appropriate quality assurance tests for liposynII 3.A prescription calls for 200 units of insulin to be added to 500ml NS.how many ml of U-500 should be used? thanx Last edited by pharma : 05-19-2008 at 06:58 AM. |

Here is what I think:
1. Recurrent Otitis Media treatment is high dose amoxil or amoxil-clavulnate dosed at 80-90 mg/kg/d for 10 days. There is no prophylaxis recommended. 2. I would suspect that tests would include a visual inspection - because doesn't Liposyn II have lipid content , so it would be cloudy right? I don't much more than that. 3. so there are 200u in 500mL and if you use a U-500 = 500 U/ mL then using ratios the amount you need is : 0.4 mL of the U-500 insulin. I hope that helps. |
