Internship in Missouri
Hi has any foreign pharmacy graduates applied for licensure in Missouri? Did you have to do 1500 intern hours? Also was it hard finding an internship position?
Thanks for any information you can give me ![]() |

Hi Oz pharmacist, I just had TOEFL few days ago so I’m still waiting for my documents. Did you have any luck with your internship search? I wonder whether this recession made it difficult for us to find intern position in Missouri. Thank you a lot! Wish you all the best! |

Hi Oz,
How are you doing? Hope you got good news from CVS. I need help from you again. I contacted Missouri Board of Pharmacy about intern license and she replied me:
I’m pretty much confused about this procedure. I will contact them again for sure, but I appreciate your help a lot. Thank you for your time and help. Best regards! |

Hi Spomica,
No luck with CVS, but I did find an independent pharmacy willing to sponsor me for an internship. I had the same problem with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, that form requires a copy of my visa, but of course I can't get a visa until the licensing is in place, so I am stuck, visa needs the license, license needs the visa. Very frustrating. Did you manage to find a way around this? I was thinking of trying to find an internship in Kansas first because I have the deficiency letter from the Kansas Board that all I need for the intern license is a SSN, but internships are in short supply and very frustrating when I have found a position in Missouri already. |

Hi Oz Pharmacist,
Congratulations on finding a sponsor for your visa. I was actually stuck for a while with TOEFL, so I didn’t do much about the license. I did contact the Board again and they explained me that they are issuing deficiency letter if you don’t have SSN. But you should not apply for the license first. Instead, you should send them Preliminary Application for Foreign Pharmacy Graduate. If some documents are missing they are issuing deficiency letter that states what documents/information are needed to complete the application. Later on, when you receive your SSN you may complete the Application and than apply for the intern license. I believe that this deficiency letter would be enough for filing the visa. That’s how I’ve understood this process, but I haven’t started with it yet and it’s the best for you to check it with the Board directly. Good luck! |

To Oz Pharmacist and all Missouri interns,
I got my FPGEC finally, so I wanted to check whether I understood the process of acquiring the deficiency letter correctly in my previous post with those of you who already went through it. My question is: Is this deficiency letter that outlines the documents needed to complete the Preliminary Application for Foreign Pharmacy Graduate the same as deficiency letter issued instead of intern license in other states? I just wanted to make sure that this deficiency letter is going to be enough for employers. Thank you for your help! |

hey guys!
I just got my FPGEE certificate and I am looking now for an internship, but I have no clue what is that I am supposed to do. Do you just try to find an internship on the internet? Is the FPGEE certificate enough to get an internship position or do I have to apply to get other documents? ![]() Thank you!!! |
