Does anyone need Drug Pronunciations?
Hello All,
We were just doing some research and wanted to know how useful you guys would find a Drug Pronunciations application? Most likely as a pharmacist you'd already know all the pronunciations but we were hoping it might be helpful for interns, techs, nurses or even first year students? If you guys are interested and have an iphone it is in the app store under the medical category. It is called Medical Drug Pronunciations. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi Macbook love:
That would be a fantastic idea to have i-phone drug pronounciation application. It is especially useful for a foreign pharmacy graduate like me. I need it as I will be US pharmacist intern in the future. I wonder if the drug pronounciation is 100 % correct in terms of american accent in that application. Also, does each drug pronounciation include both chemical name and US brand name? Would people add more drugs onto that application so I can learn more than 2500 USA drugs ' pronounciation. I like this idea and will buy it. I will also highly recommend to my friends. Thanks. Wishtopass |

I actually downloaded this app on my iphone the other day. It's worked well for all the drugs I was unsure about so far. There could be some improvements but overall it does what it says it will. The cool thing is that you can submit missing drugs and they add it through updates frequently.
But anyways, to answer your question, YES! I personally do find it useful. |

Hi medstudentjunkie:
How do you submit the drugs that are missed and then you add it through updates frequently? Would you mind telling me? Does that mean you can spell out any drugs that do not exist in this app, and then add it to the app and updates frequently? How does it work? Wishtopass |

Well, I'm not exactly sure because I didn't create the application. I just downloaded it off of iTunes. What I THINK happens though is that when you submit the word, the people who made the application review it and if it's not in the database they will add it in a future update (whenever that would be...). So far I haven't come across a drug that wasn't in the database already (even though I've only had it for 3 days now)... It seems pretty comprehensive. Kilode: I think you can only use the application if you own an iPhone or an iPod Touch. The application is called "Medical Drug Pronunciations" and I downloaded it from the iTunes store. I believe it was $2.99 |
